Elina Hsiung started her career as a professional dancer at The
Danceworx Performing Arts Academy, in Mumbai India. She trained in
Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary for 6 years. While training at The
Danceworx Academy, during the last 3 years, Elina simultaneously taught
and choreographed for The Academy. Elina has also tapped into the
Bollywood Industry. She performed as the main dance double for Preeti
Desai, the lead actress in the Bollywood movie, “One by Two”, Miss
Desai was the Former “Miss Great Britain”. Elina then danced in a short
film called, “Country of Bodies”, which premiered at London Indian Film
Festival, 2013. She performed in one of India’s leading actor, Salman
Khan’s, “Being Human” fashion show and also appeared on TV Channel
AXN in an episode for dancers
Accepted by “The Ailey School” of The Alvin Ailey American Dance
Theatre, she moved to New York in 2013. After graduating from The Alvin
Ailey School, she had the opportunity to study and work with many
established artists such as Stephen Petronio, Darcy Naganuma, Nile
Russel and Eric Williams. She was also selected into an Indian Classical
Contemporary Fusion Company, “Kalamandir Dance Company” co-
founded and directed by Brinda Guha, who is the Educational Programs
Coordinator at Broadway Dance Center. Elina then went on to train under
renowned teacher and choreographer Deborah Y. Wilson at Broadway
Dance Center and soon was invited to become one of her assistants.
