This collaboration titled, Prana/Breath, between two dance companies, Dakshina, a Bharata Natyam and modern company, and Sakshi Productions, a neo-classical and contemporary Odissi dance company, explores the ways in which prana, or the breath manifests in different dancing bodies, dance histories, varying movement vocabularies and live percussion. Each piece engages with the notion of prana in a unique way and celebrates the life-breath of dance and music. Dakshina’s performance is presented by the Indo American Arts Council with generous funding support from the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation.

Ria Dasgupta & Donia Salem (Principal dancers of Kalamandir Dance Company) will be featured in this performance by Dakshina and Sakshi.
